ABOUT ME
I am a freelance writer and editor. My experience covers all stages of the publishing process from brainstorm to press run—including research, writing, copyediting and photo sourcing.

Journalism
My educational background includes a Master's of Arts degree in Geography and a post-graduate diploma in professional writing and journalism from the University of Victoria, where I contributed to The Martlet and received the British Columbia & Yukon Community Newspapers Association Scholarship and the Harvey S. Southam Scholarship in Writing and Editing.

My writing and photography appear in The Globe and Mail, The Province, Edmonton Journal, Ottawa Citizen and the Victoria Times Colonist, as well as magazines and trade journals.

Editing
I am the editor of Adventure Kayak magazine. My skills include manuscript evaluation, substantive editing, copyediting and proofreading.

Photography
University photojournalism training, magazine photo editing and outdoor photography experience complement my writing specialty.

Please contact me to discuss your writing or editing needs.
